How time flies. Nitrokey was founded ten years ago with the mission of making digital security, data protection, and sovereignty accessible to everyone. Our goal is to develop the best open source security hardware – and we are world leaders in this field.
Our roots go back to 2008, when the non-commercial open source project Crypto Stick began. 2015 finally marked the step towards professionalization and the launch of Nitrokey in Berlin.
Today, ten years later, we look back with pride on what we have achieved together:
- Almost 100,000 Nitrokeys sold.
- Our product portfolio is constantly growing to enable people and organizations to protect more and more areas of their business and personal lives.
- 30,000 satisfied customers worldwide, including many well-known companies and organizations, use our products every day.
