This paper presents both theoretical foundations and a working implementation, including a dual-process meta-prompt architecture and empirical succession package data from operational agent generations. Our research validation indicates strong empirical support for the core problems ALE addresses, while our academic literature review suggests that no existing framework combines proactive succession with behavioral inheritance for LLM agent lifecycle management. This positions ALE as both a theoretical contribution and an implementation of generational agent management.

This gap may represent an architectural oversight in current LLM agent design, where systems typically operate single agent instances until failure forces reactive intervention.
