There’s a reason the History Channel has produced hundreds of documentaries about Hitler but only a few about Dwight D. Eisenhower. Bad guys (and gals) are eternally fascinating. Behind the Bastards, a podcast hosted by Robert Evans, dives in past the Cliffs Notes of the worst humans in history and exposes the bizarre realities of their lives. Listeners will learn about the young adult novels that helped Hitler form his monstrous ideology, the founder of Blackwater’s insane quest to build his own Air Force, the bizarre lives of the sons and daughters of dictators and Saddam Hussein’s side career as a trashy romance novelist.
Rule #1: Be nice to everyone, except history's greatest monsters. This also means following Reddiquette
Rule #2: Be kind to the guests. They volunteer their time to learn about these Bastards. If you don’t like someone that’s completely fine. Robert does. Meaning he thinks they’re worthy of being a guest and his opinion trumps yours. Don’t be negative for the sake of being negative.
Rule #3: Submissions must be related to the podcast or other CZM media. Rule suspended on the weekends. Rule also typically relaxed after a major event because trying to take down irrelevant posts becomes a boring game of whack-a-mole and users with a conservative's level of understanding of free speech complain about censorship.
Rule #4: Any content related to Robert Evans is valid. Whether it be Behind the Bastards, It Could Happen Here, Bellingcat, his books, audiobooks, interviews, etc., it’s fair game.
Rule #5: Violation of sitewide rules. This includes things like threats, glorification or encouragement of violence, brigading, doxxing, ban evasion etc.
Rule #6: No bigotry. Racism, Sexism, Transphobia, Ableism, all that stuff is shitty.
Rule #7: No trolling, no sealioning, and no sealioning when you're called out for trolling.
Rule #8: No reposting something that has already been posted in the last 6 months
Rule #9: No AI Content unless the host/guest specifically ask for it.
