not a fan of this idea. Mistral AI, while not top tier, remains Europe's sole AI competitor and will be probably underutilized under Apple's leadership and mismanagement issues. First it was the project Titan that Apple scrapped (electric and autonomous vehicle), then it followed with Apple vision pro and they failed at Apple Intelligence.

Apple buying Mistral isn’t innovation. It’s surrender. The builders already won — now the giants are just paying the invoice.

Smart move for the right price, honestly. That or white labeling Claude as discussed.

That would be the funniest move by Apple while under duress from DMA investigations: buying the only - not so strong - European contender in the AI field.
