Ask HN: Should Europe be Granted Free LLMs to Avoid them Using Chinese LLMs?

I would like to have gratis American LLMs for individuals and small business, and them in compensation those could offer not using Chinese LLMs. The deal required provided American LLMs are better or equal to Chinese.

I think this is a win-win deal in the current AI race. Of course the Chinese could offer paying Europeans for using theirs, or offering new tools and agents. So, for Americans, taking the leading role can be a good idea.

Another posibility is that Europe could legislate forcing the use of European LLMs to maintain some independence and participate as a small player in the current race.

Perhaps HN think about this as an unreal setting?
