Ask HN: Thoughts on the New Unplugged Up Phone?

There's some shady history with this company, with leader, open source misappropriations, etc. But this, they've hired a new CEO and (at least nominally) rejiggered their open source stance. Wondering if anyone has evaluated it. The hardware seems reasonable. I'm most interested in the hardware switches.
