Build your CV on Subreply as a LinkedIn alternative

Software development using Python (+10 years), JavaScript, PHP, SQL and NoSQL databases. DevOps automation using Linux, Docker, Jenkins, Bash, CI/CD, AWS and other cloud providers.

A tiny, but mighty social network.

Developed and debugged a pricing estimation platform for vehicle parts. Transitioned old software written in C++ to a modern stack using Python, Flask, FastAPI, Celery, Pytest, XML parser, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Docker, etc.

Bucharest, Romania — I created an automatic testing framework to run anything from code quality checks to end-to-end tests. I implemented data migrations for MySQL using Dbdiff. I created a CI/CD solution using Jenkins Pipeline and Docker containers for parallel execution of tests. I was the release manager on the project involving 30+ QA automation testers. I took care of framework architecture, automation, tests, product ownership and devops. I transitioned QA manual testers to QA automation. I build a tech stack from scratch: Python, Pytest, Selenium, Requests, MySQL, DBDiff, Jenkins Pipeline, Docker, etc.

Bucharest, Romania — I built a cybersecurity platform using Django that automatically integrated sources of public trust and truth from domain. I created an automation framework using multiprocessing that let company security experts quickly automate their day-to-day tasks. I designed real-time APIs that automatically detected and reported incidents. I learned how to build a secure tech stack: Python, Django, Boto3, Pandas, NumPy, PostgreSQL, Oracle DB, etc.

Bucharest, Romania — I coded features for the RTB (real-time bidding) web advertising platform of ChargeAds. I designed a big data, real-time reporting system using Clickhouse by replacing a Hadoop system. I implemented intelligent image cropping using OpenCV and face detection algorithms. I worked with a CTO established tech stack: Python 2.7, Django, Celery, Boto3, BeautifulSoup, PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, Angular 1.x, Underscore.js, Node.js, etc.

🏒 Lucian Marin It's 2025. Each experience in a CV should have a link. You can add as many experiences as you like to your profile.

👽 Paul Webb Yes please! I can't wait to use your version

🏒 Lucian Marin I also want to create a dedicated site for jobs called NetworkXP that will write to the same database. I feel inspired by Nostr, same protocol, different apps.

👽 Paul Webb I joined Peerlist several months ago because it seemed like a cooler LinkedIn but it's really more like ProductHunt LinkedIn. Not really a fan of it so I stopped using it. I just made a plaintext CV to accompany my LinkedIn: cv.webb.page

🏒 Lucian Marin I want a clean alternative to LinkedIn. Also while working on resumes, I figured out how to do an API for the entire site. I asked Gemini to translate HTML endpoints to JSON endpoints. Auth will be token based.

🏒 Lucian Marin ChatGPT knows more about Subreply than I do.

🦧 Simon Gray About to watch Superman. The only previous Superman movie I've seen is 1983's Superman 3.

🏒 Lucian Marin I don't think I can watch the new Superman. It's too cartoonish for me.

🐵 David subreply is dead. Almost nobody comes here. ;-)

🏒 Lucian Marin Subreply is fun with a few smart people hanging around.

👽 Paul Webb I quite like it the concept ands immediately installed the developer beta on my phone. It clearly wasn't considered in many places but I expect that from a beta.

🏒 Lucian Marin They toned down liquid glass effect in iOS 26 beta 3. Apple should remove it entirely.

🏒 Lucian Marin People who register a new account on Subreply no longer need to wait for my approval. I will delete spam accounts when I find the time for doing it.

🏒 Lucian Marin I want to build resumes on top of Subreply profiles. You can add any kind of experiences (jobs, projects, gigs, education, courses) on your profile.

👽 Paul Webb I tested Nostr briefly but none of the third-party apps have the polish I want so I fell off. I follow one guy that actually posts to Bluesky via a Mastodon bridge.

🏒 Lucian Marin Well, you can try nostter.app and freefrom.space clients.

🙌 Nat Voisey Enjoyed the Wikipedia section. Current Events and the news sites are pretty cool.

👽 Paul Webb HARD disagree. Mastodon is fantastic for me. Bluesky is quiet af and Threads is just wanna be viral content. I guess it just boils down to who you follow. To me, small web folks, hackers, and those who spend time making lil' projects for internet lovers spend most of their time on Mastodon.

🏒 Lucian Marin Nostr is full of hackers. Everyone I follow on Mastodon double posts to Bluesky or Threads.

👨🏻‍💻 Moroni P0sixninja, a prominent former iPhone jailbreaker, is homeless and looking for a job. Does this suggest that talent alone isn't enough to succeed today?

🏒 Lucian Marin Yes. I know this from my own experience. Talent isn't important to managers.

🙌 Nat Voisey They can do more, but they won't do as *little* as you can do. I like that you've kept it simple.

🏒 Lucian Marin I spent six months on other social networks and I got bored. Subreply is a lot more interesting to me even if there aren't that many people here.

🏒 Lucian Marin A contact link to your profile will help with SEO, but an article about Subreply will be even cooler.

🏒 Lucian Marin Mastodon is dead. Most people have migrated to Bluesky or Threads.

👽 Paul Webb HARD disagree. Mastodon is fantastic for me. Bluesky is quiet af and Threads is just wanna be viral content. I guess it just boils down to who you follow. 🙌 Nat Voisey Mastodon is great for communities that have a niche. Have you tried Ivory by Tapbots?
