Flux.1 Kontext [Dev] Day-0 Support in ComfyUI

4 months ago 8

FLUX.1 Kontext [dev] just dropped and is natively supported in ComfyUI!

Developed by Black Forest Labs, Flux.1 Kontext [dev] is the open-source sibling of the FLUX.1 Kontext model. It’s a 12B parameter diffusion transformer model that understands and generates from existing images, under the FLUX.1 Non-Commercial License

Same core capabilities as the FLUX.1 Kontext suite:

  • Character consistency: Preserve unique elements of an image, such as a reference character or object in a picture, across multiple scenes and environments.

  • Local editing: Make targeted modifications of specific elements in an image without affecting the rest.

  • Style Reference: Generate novel scenes while preserving unique styles from a reference image, directed by text prompts.

While the API version shipped previously provides the highest fidelity and speed, Flux.1 Kontext [dev] runs entirely on your machine, offering unmatched flexibility for developers, researchers, and power users looking to experiment.

  1. Update ComfyUI or ComfyUI desktop

  2. Go to WorkflowBrowse TemplatesFlux → Flux.1 Kontext Dev

  3. Click and run any templates!

Prompt example: Transform to 1960s pop art style with bright colors, bold graphics, and commercial aesthetics

Prompt example: Add ASCII style text only the single word "In" no additional letters to the display

Prompt example: Rotate the camera 180 degrees to view directly from behind the dog, showing its back and tail while maintaining the same 3D style

Prompt example: Convert to early morning scene with soft golden sunrise light and gentle morning mist, maintaining the same composition and architectural details
