This week, I was in Milan for Codemotion 2025. This conference is huge, maybe the biggest one I ever attended. I was there to give a talk on cybersecurity. My world. My comfort zone.
The morning of the day of my talk, I was scrolling through the conference schedule. My eyes scanned the usual topics: cloud, microservices, JavaScript frameworks…
And then I saw it. A talk on quantum computing, given by Alessandro Berti from the University of Pisa.
I don’t know why.
It just hit me. A “bang” in my head.
I had to go.
This was one of those obscure, fascinating topics I’d always wanted to understand but had never taken the time to explore.
In the bus on my way to the conference, I opened my phone.
I fired up ChatGPT and started asking it a thousand questions. What is a qubit? What is superposition? What is entanglement?
