Description

This paper presents a complete, deterministic solution to the final unsolved passage of the Kryptos sculpture (known as “K4”), installed at CIA Headquarters by artist Jim Sanborn. Unlike speculative attempts, this solution incorporates recursive logic, spatial interpretation, and the sculpture’s physical design, including a transposition method that echoes the literal act of wrapping the cipher around the pole. The result is a final plaintext message thematically consistent with K1-K3, as well as Sanborn’s known linguistic style. A full breakdown of method, transformation logic, and thematic analysis is included, alongside an open letter to Sanborn.
