I’m 7h30th3r0n3, an ethical hacker and cybersecurity expert. I created NanoC6-Honeypot after realizing the urgent need for a low-cost, easy-to-deploy honeypot that anyone can use. My goal was to help organizations of all sizes protect themselves, while making it simple to integrate with existing cybersecurity solutions like ELK. NanoC6-Honeypot was developped to be accessible, effective, and ready for real-world defense.
It features a full web-based configuration UI, persistent storage using SPIFFS, and webhook-based alerting that can be integrated with Discord, Telegram, Signal, WhatsApp, or SIEM platforms like ELK.
What is a canary honeypot ? It's like a bug zapper for hackers. It’s a fake computer or file placed on your network, designed to look tempting but actually has no real use. If someone tries to access it, it means they’re probably up to no good, a potential hacker! As soon as it’s touched, you get an alert. It’s basically a silent alarm that lets you know someone suspicious is snooping around before any real damage happens. It can also be linked to internet to expose it as the screenshot below.
