This month, Raspberry Pi launched two new components for embedded designs. The $4 Radio Module 2 adds Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to RP2040 and RP2350 projects, while the Camera Module 3 Sensor Assemblies offer a compact way to integrate Raspberry Pi’s 12MP camera into custom hardware.
Raspberry Pi notes that the Radio Module 2 integrates the Infineon CYW43439 chip, the same component found in the Pico W and Pico 2 W. It delivers 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth 5.2 (Classic and BLE), and is intended for use with RP2040 and RP2350-based systems. With castellated edge pads, a built-in PCB antenna, and a compact 16.5mm × 14.5mm footprint, it offers a simple and cost-effective path to wireless connectivity.
