We are challenging you to build the weirdest, wildest, or most unexpected app you can using Ratatui.
Whether it's running on a toaster's display, or powering a 3D multiplayer game in the terminal — if it uses Ratatui in a surprising way, we want to see it!
The goal is to improve Ratatui's API through real-world (and surreal) experiments, create new use cases and just have fun! 🧀
Example projects
Some ideas are running Ratatui on PlayStation 1 (using mipsel-sony-psx target) and on Nintendo 3DS (using armv6k-nintendo-3ds target).
Tip
Try out the newest 0.30.0-alpha.4 release that enables compilation for no-std targets and push it to the limit!
Rules
- The project must be open source
- Post a video/photos or screenshot of your Ratatui application running (e.g. demo or demo2)
- Include a short write-up (what you did, challenges, and how you did it)
- Share it with us on Discord or other social media channels

- Submission deadline: July 31st
- Entries must be open source and submitted before the deadline.
- We may feature your entry in future blog posts, talks, or documentation.
- One prize per winner. No cash value. We are not responsible for any taxes, duties, or customs fees.
- No purchase necessary to enter the competition.
- Open to participants worldwide, age 18+.
- Judges' decisions are final.
