Smart Home Automation of Medacube Medication Pill Mixing Linux Robot

Does anyone in the forum use the MedaCube? It's a smart, networked medication dispenser. Unlike most on the market, it actually picks specific pills from refillable bins and creates doses based on a schedule. As odd as it sounds, it's the only one that I'm aware of on the market that does that. All others require subscriptions to pre-made packs of pills or is nothing more than a timer/reminder.

It seems to be managed with rather old tech. Has anyone successfully done any sort of home integration with theirs or done anything interesting with it? My one complaint is it has lots of safety features since the primary market is elderly users that need a lot more hand holding and oversight.
