Cybersecurity

beem is the new cybersecurity solution from Swisscom, specially developed for business customers of all sizes. By directly integrating cybersecurity into its network, Swisscom is setting new global standards. Protection is no longer primarily provided on devices or at company sites, but via the network.

The dangers of cyberspace are a bitter reality, with the media reporting new cyberattacks on Swiss companies daily. To optionally protect business customers against these threats, Swisscom has launched beem – a ground-breaking, all-in-one cybersecurity solution implemented directly in the Swisscom network infrastructure and the first of its kind worldwide. For customers, therefore, connected = secure.

  • Seamless network integration: the central element of beem is beemNet, the trusted gateway to the Internet. As soon as beemNet has been activated, mobile telephones, PCs, Macs, tablets and IoT devices with a Swisscom SIM card are automatically protected in beemNet. All devices and company sites connected to Swisscom Internet also benefit from the same protection. Supported devices on third-party networks or public WLANs can furthermore enjoy protection by connecting to beemNet using the beem app.
  • Secure gateway to the Internet: all data traffic in beemNet undergoes numerous security checks to averts cyberattacks and block harmful content.
  • Secure access to company data: business customers benefit from secure access to company applications and data from all locations – whether stored locally or in the cloud. beem enables customised access rules for business applications such as accounting software, ERP systems and the like, thereby protecting data and operating processes.
  • Greater security without passwords: authentication for beemNet meets the latest security standards and does not require a password; instead, it is based on quick, simple and secure passkeys using a PIN, a fingerprint or facial recognition. This upstream authentication enables customers to significantly reduce the risk of weak or compromised passwords.
  • Anonymisation and encryption: end-to-end encryption ensures that employees can access company data securely and privately even when using public WLANs or third-party networks, whether in Switzerland or abroad. All connected devices are furthermore anonymous on the Internet, offering additional protection against cyberattacks and social engineering.
  • Transparency about cyber incidents: users are informed about averted cyber incidents by push notifications in the beem app. The individual evaluations are only accessible to the user at hand – administrators have access to a company-wide Security Dashboard with anonymised statistics.

Simple activation and management

beem can be set up quickly and effectively for all company devices, sites and users, and tailored to their needs. A user-friendly dashboard enables the security settings to be intuitively controlled and managed. beem is designed to comprehensively protect companies of all sizes without requiring specialist expertise.

The beem Security Editions build on one another and are available in four versions. The suitable edition is selected based on a company’s specific protection requirements:

  • Essential: secure surfing in beemNet
  • Basic: secure access to business applications
  • Plus: flexible protection and networking
  • Premium: data loss prevention and data protection with AI

beem is now available to order and will gradually replace former Connectivity products. The initial focus will be placed on the SME market: Enterprise Mobile subscriptions are becoming beem Protect & Connect user licences and inOne SME office is being significantly upgraded with beemNet Protection & Privacy and now called beem Office. Over the coming months, beemNet will also be available for Smart Business Connect, NATEL® go, Enterprise Connect, IP-Plus® and IoT.

In taking this step, Swisscom is helping business customers to work securely from anywhere and comprehensively protect their businesses. As such, it is ringing in a new era for security. beem will be continually developed and gradually made available across all sales channels.
