I know people are allowed to invest or consume whatever they please if you have the money to hire a self driving car go off king/queen, who cares. But let's not assume that most people who hire these services are not just doing it out of novelty. Woo look at me I'm in a self driving car!!

Same thing with electric cars. They are luxury vehicles, for most people ICE cars are fine. The best strategy to decrease pollution is not to give every person an electric car it's to normalize smaller cars (like Europe) and make it so that people can go from home to work and back with public transportation instead of getting on a can on the highway for 1 hour every day.

If you want people to have better mobility in cities you have to try and apply a bottleneck approach. Look for the pareto principle. Find the technology that works for the common denominator. And that technology is busses and subways.

Filling the streets with self driving cars is just not substaniable in economics terms nor in moral terms.

From what I read on your comment you seem to think that people who oppose some technology's are luddites who fear some thing or have a knee jerk reaction to some sensationalist headline. In reality there are dozens of valid reasons to be against self driving cars.
