AWS announces open-source AWS API Models
AWS has launched an official source for API model definition files and service model packages, now available on GitHub and Maven Central. Developers can access daily updates of these models in Smithy format, which can be used for mock testing and other development needs. The new packages allow integration into development environments, enabling the creation of custom AWS SDKs. More details are available on the AWS News blog.
AWS Certificate Manager introduces exportable public SSL/TLS certificates to use anywhere
AWS Certificate Manager now allows users to export public SSL/TLS certificates along with their private keys. These certificates can be used on Amazon EC2 instances, containers, and on-premises hosts. They are valid for 395 days and incur charges upon issuance and renewal. To export a certificate, users must request a new one with export enabled and validate their domain ownership.
Amazon Inspector launches code security to shift security left in development
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched Amazon Inspector code security capabilities, enabling users to identify and prioritize security vulnerabilities in applications before production. This feature integrates with GitHub and GitLab, allowing for real-time code evaluation and feedback. It includes Static Application Security Testing, Software Composition Analysis, and Infrastructure as Code scanning. The service is available in 10 regions worldwide.
AWS Enhances Network Security with New Firewall and Transit Gateway Integration
AWS Network Firewall now integrates with AWS Transit Gateway, enhancing network security management across global infrastructures. This integration is available in five regions and simplifies the connection between Amazon VPCs and on-premises networks. Users can configure for high availability without complex setups. There are no extra charges for this integration beyond standard service fees.
Azure Functions enable OpenTelemetry Support
Azure Functions has announced major improvements to OpenTelemetry support, enhancing observability and performance. These updates provide more detailed insights into function executions, aiding in faster issue diagnosis and application optimization. Monitoring and troubleshooting serverless apps is now easier with clearer insights. Users can enable OpenTelemetry in their function app and refer to the latest documentation to get started.
Azure Linux now supports AKS LTS Support with Kubernetes 1.28 and above
Azure Linux now supports AKS LTS with Kubernetes version 1.28 and above. This integration offers a stable, enterprise-grade operating system for container workloads. Users can benefit from the extended lifecycle advantages of AKS LTS. The platform ensures a consistent, secure, and well-maintained environment for deployments.
Launch of 2.5 Flash-Lite and general availability of 2.5 Flash and Pro on Vertex AI
Google Cloud Platform's Vertex AI now features the Gemini 2.5 models, including the stable Gemini 2.5 Flash and cost-efficient Flash-Lite, enhancing AI development for enterprises. New tools like Supervised Fine-Tuning and an updated Live API with audio capabilities are also available. These advancements aim to improve productivity and efficiency in various applications, from automated testing to healthcare data extraction. Organizations can confidently deploy these models for mission-critical tasks.
C4D now GA: up to 80% higher performance for your business critical workloads
Google Cloud has launched its new C4D virtual machine family, featuring 5th Gen AMD EPYC processors, offering up to 80% higher throughput for web serving and 30% better performance for general computing. C4D supports bare metal instances and next-gen Titanium Local SSD for improved I/O operations. It provides better performance per dollar compared to previous models and competitors, making it suitable for various workloads. New customers can receive $300 in free credits and access to free monthly usage of over 20 products.
Enhancing backup vaults with support for Persistent Disk, Hyperdisk, and multi-regions
Google Cloud has enhanced its backup vaults to support standalone Persistent Disk and Hyperdisk backups, allowing for more targeted data protection. Backup vaults now also offer multi-region support for improved data resilience. These features ensure backups are immutable and indelible, safeguarding against cyber threats like ransomware. This provides a comprehensive defense strategy for various workloads in Google Cloud.
KServe v0.15: Advancing Generative AI Model Serving
KServe v0.15 has been released, enhancing support for generative AI models, particularly large language models (LLMs). It introduces features like improved caching, multi-node inference, and integration with Envoy AI Gateway for better traffic management. The update also includes a dedicated section in the documentation for generative AI workloads and lightweight installation for Kubernetes. These advancements aim to streamline the serving of both predictive and generative AI models at scale.
