Writing is everywhere: write more

2 days ago 5

Writing is such a valuable skill, yet so many people neglect it.

Here’s what makes writing valuable:

Social media. Video scripts. Newsletters. Work communication. AI prompts. Copywriting. Marketing. Blogs. Documentation. You name it.

Writing plays an important role, and I’ll boldly say that writing is the pillar of everything.

Just think about the activities you did today. Now think about how many of those involved writing. It’s likely that most of them involved writing in one form or the other.

So, why not get better at it?

Whether you are a developer, SaaS founder, Developer Advocate, or a Marketer, writing can open up opportunities for you.

Your writings are like a personal recruiter looking for opportunities for you 24/7. It highlights your knowledge, skills, and your way of thinking. It helps you draw more visibility to your products and services as well.

I know that because I did it myself. I also helped others leverage writing to bring awareness to their products and services, earn money, and get opportunities.

I'm not trying to brag or sell you anything here. I just want to show you that writing is a tool that can help you in many ways.

Writing forces you to step back, look at the bigger picture, and consider other perspectives. That helps you to spot gaps in your thinking, identify biases, and fix inaccuracies.

As a result, you can fill those gaps, remove the biases and assumptions, and improve your thinking.

Writing quality content builds your credibility, and can position you as an expert in your field.

Consistently providing valuable content and helping others will make people trust you and become their go-to resource.

As an exercise, pick your favourite creators, developers, and entrepreneurs, and check how many of those publish consistently on their platforms.

Writing is more than just a nice-to-have skill.

It's a powerful skill that opens up opportunities, improves your knowledge and builds your credibility.

And the best thing - it has a low entry barrier and it’s also a low-friction activity. You can start a website/newsletter/Substack and begin publishing articles right away.
