Shoutout to the NSW Health hospital that told my friend they needed to cover their dead colleagues shift that evening. This was right after the registrars had been called in as a group and told that the colleague had suicided. They pulled my friend back and said right, you're on call, off you go.
(About a decade ago, not identifying because there's been many since).
If any of you are having thoughts of not wanting to be alive anymore or even just dreading going into work, please please just call in sick for the week and don't go back until you've seen a psychologist. You can pay privately, you don't have to use any insurance or anything so the notes just stay there. Do not post about it on socials. And there's nothing wrong with you, you're just being crushed by an incredibly large organisation that you need some help tunnelling out of.
