I have been using WezTerm since 2023. Before that I used Alacritty. Alacrity is fast but the terminal’s font rendering was abnormal on my mac, making JetBrains Mono Nerd font look bolder than normal. So, I switched to WezTerm as it was comparably fast, and did not have any problems with fonts. But last year YouTubers started to hype Ghostty 👻 terminal for its speed, and native feel, I was intrigued to say the least. So, when the terminal was publicly released on last December, I started using it exclusively.
I am a terminal nerd, and learning to use the terminal has made me more productive than any other skill. It has shown me a lesser-known aspect of computing that many people don’t realize, and I’ve developed a passion for terminal applications. I have written about multiple CLI apps like mise, yazi, and others. I am also building a file based api client to replace postman for myself. I use Neovim as my text editor, and I use tmux to manage sessions. Here is a list of all the apps I use on a daily basis. All this to say, I use terminal pretty extensively.
