Numerous tales of time travellers circulate, but among the most captivating are those depicting anachronistic photographs featuring objects that were invented long before their time period. One such account involves a purported time traveller who claimed to have travelled back 11 years, appeared on the internet and issued warnings of impending nuclear war.
In 2000, a man named John Titor appeared on internet forums, sharing warnings about future events. The most notable of these predictions were the possibilities of future nuclear conflict and clashes with dictatorial rulers. Titor also asserted that he was a time traveller, making his first post with this claim on November 2, 2000.
Titor claimed to be a time traveller from 2036. He asserted that he was from Florida and served in the Army. After initially travelling to 1975, he returned and spent time in 2000 for personal reasons.
He was critical of the early 21st century, stating, “You people are not liked in the future. Because this era will be considered an era of completely lazy, selfish and careless people."
Surprisingly, many of Titor’s predictions were shocking. Among them, before the Iraq War of 2003, he wrote about weapons of mass destruction online. Many people believe that Titor was aware of the Iraq War and the controversy related to its claims.
Apart from this, he stated that he travelled to get the IBM 5100 computer in 1975. In 2004, IBM admitted to having this powerful computer, the secret functionality of which it had kept hidden from the world.
Titor also questioned how mankind was able to solve the problem of spaceplane overheating. Many claim that Titor was referring to the Columbia space shuttle accident, and he was aware of the outcome of that NASA mission in which famous astronaut Kalpana Chawla died.
Some of Titor’s predictions, such as the outbreak of civil war in America in 2004 and the global spread of the Mad Cow epidemic, proved inaccurate. Many people posit that his warnings averted these events, while others claim that two Americans, who later established a company named the John Titor Foundation, were behind the online posts.
