Hi HN,
I’ve always had more show and movie ideas than I had time (or energy) to turn into full scripts. Some were pretty fleshed out — loglines, character breakdowns, even season arcs — but without a clear path to share them or get feedback, they just sat in folders.
So I built something I wish had existed earlier: https://thenextgreatshow.com
It’s a free, in-beta platform where writers can post and browse fully-formed TV/film concepts — no finished script required. Think pitch decks, not PDFs.
Built with: • Laravel (API + auth) • Vue 3 + Vite (frontend) • Tailwind CSS • Docker (for local + production consistency)
You can: • Post loglines, characters, episode/season breakdowns • Browse other people’s concepts for inspiration • Share your project easily with feedback links or version history
It started as a personal tool, but I’ve opened it to anyone. Hoping it can help other writers (or developers who love story structure) get their ideas out of limbo.
Feedback very welcome — on the concept, the tech, or the UX.
Thanks, Aaron
